Community-based speech pathology service supporting children and families on the Mornington Peninsula.
Services
Grow Your Own Way Speech Pathology supports children with diverse communication needs. We are a mobile speech pathology service delivering therapy in your home, or at your child's care or education setting.
Assessments
Our assessment services aim to understand your child as an individual. We use different assessment methods to learn about your child's strengths and areas requiring support, which we use to tailor your child's therapy. Please contact us if you are requiring an assessment for a specific purpose (e.g., as part of a diagnostic evaluation)
Therapy
Your child's therapy will look different depending on their needs, interests and circumstances. Our therapy model generally consists of face to face sessions with your child, combined with parent discussions about home practice and therapy progress. Therapy goals are developed to lead to the most meaningful changes for your child. To ensure transfer to other settings, we work to include other people involved in supporting your child (e.g., Educators, other service providers)
Parent / Caregiver Support
We recognise that your child's therapy session with us forms only a small part of their week. For your child to get the most out of therapy it is essential to have caregiver commitment and involvement. Your speech pathologist will support you to feel empowered to support your child outside of therapy sessions, and also encourage your child to take charge of their own therapy journey by including them in goal setting and decisions around how sessions are structured.
About Me
Veronica Frewer
Certified Practising Speech Pathologist
I am a speech pathologist with more than 10 years experience working with children in public, private, community and not-for-profit settings. I have a Bachelor of Health Sciences / Master of Speech Pathology (Honours), and have completed Doctoral studies focused on supporting autistic children with complex communication needs with their speech and language development. I love working with children and embracing and nurturing their natural curiosity for learning. As a mum of two young boys, I know how important it is to make sessions fun and engaging - and to ensure therapy goals are relevant and meaningful for the child and family to thrive in their environment.
